CARLISLE, Pa. — The Washington and Lee women’s cross country team had three runners in the Top 10 in the 4k race at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational on Saturday to finish third out of 18 teams.
 
Division II Shippensburg claimed the top spot in the 4k with 10 points, Dickinson was second (12 points) and the Generals totaled 25 points, as the team score in the 4k race at the Long/Short Invite reflects only the school’s Top 3 runners.
 
Junior Carolyn Todd (Cumberland Foreside, Maine/Greely) finished sixth overall to pace the Blue and White with a time of 15:26.35. First-year Kristen Clodgo (Raleigh, N.C./Sanderson) placed ninth in 15:45.54, and first-year Mimi Kemp (Richmond, Va./Maggie Walker Governor’s School) was just a few seconds behind her in 10th (15:47.33).
 
The Generals also had three of the next four runners to cross the finish line. Sophomore Elise Molinaro (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg South) claimed 11th in 15:50.35. Senior Sarah Hollen (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area) took 12th (16:03.05), and sophomore Kate Barnes (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Christian Academy) was 14th with a time of 16:06.16.
 

W&L’s spread of its Top 7 runners was just 44 seconds. The team was also without one of its top competitors in senior Avery Schiffman (New Vernon, N.J./The Pingry School).
 
Senior Isabel Cardi of Dickinson was the top individual with a time of 14:32.12.
 
The Generals next compete at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on October 16.
