GREENSBORO, N.C. — Sophomore outside hitter Sydney Heifner (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hall) notched 14 kills and 13 digs to propel the Washington and Lee volleyball team to a 3-0 victory at Guilford on Wednesday.

The Generals (16-5, 7-0 ODAC) and the Quakers (5-13, 2-5 ODAC) had a close first set with W&L pulling out a 25-20 win, but then the Blue and White made quick work of Guilford over the final two sets, 25-8 and 25-13, to secure the match.
Senior right side Carson Allsteadt (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) joined Heifner with double-digit kills, tallying 11 on a .350 hitting percentage. She also had three blocks.
Junior defensive specialist Caroline Gard (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) led the team with 18 digs and two aces. First-year setter Allie Buchholz (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) added 12 digs.
First-year outside hitter Avery Myers (New York, N.Y./Poly Prep Country Day School) totaled 11 digs and six kills. Junior setter Ashley Webb (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) contributed 31 assists, three digs and two aces.
Senior outside hitter Cydney Scott had a team-high eight kills and 13 digs for the Quakers. Sophomore setter Sydney Hopewell tallied a team-best 16 digs.

The Generals return to the court on Saturday for two matches. They host Hollins at 11:00 am and then face Virginia Wesleyan at 4:00 pm. Before the match against Hollins, W&L will honor its senior class.
